What is the difference between Profhilo and dermal fillers?

Both Profhilo and dermal fillers are injectables that can be used to reduce the natural signs of ageing. At VIVA we love using Juvederm dermal filler to restore volume and lift for a more youthful, defined appearance. Whilst we use fillers to subtly ‘fill’ areas, the smooth structure of Profhilo means it can be used over an extended area of skin to provide a powerful hit of hydration. This works to improve texture and tone and achieve a youthful, plump and dewy glow.

How does Profhilo work?

Profhilo features the highest level of hyaluronic acid (HA) on the market. HA is naturally occurring in the body and its job is to retain moisture and support collagen production. Over time, HA production slows, as does that of key proteins, collagen and elastin. This can leave the skin dry and dull, with ageing signs such as wrinkles beginning to appear. Profhilo works to stimulate the production of these proteins, which not only smooths and brightens the skin, but also protects the complexion from future ageing signs. Suitable for all, this incredibly versatile product can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, dehydrated or crepey skin and a dull, tired appearance.

What can I expect from treatment?

Profhilo is a non-surgical treatment which involves injecting product into multiple points across the area of concern. The whole appointment can be expected to last around 30 minutes, with much of this time being used to discuss your treatment plan and apply Topical anaesthetic for your comfort. Profhilo gets to work immediately, leaving you with a clearer, more radiant complexion, whilst keeping things super natural. To achieve maximum results we will always recommend 2 sessions spaced across 2-4 weeks.
