Take a look through the conditions we treat at Viva Skin Clinics.

Hooded Eyelids
Hooded eyes, also known as droopy eyelids, are known as an eye shape where excess skin and soft tissue around the eyebrow covers the eyelid, but not the eye. The condition is coined ‘hooded eyes’ because the skin forms a “hood” over the eyelid, leaving a visible crease.

Weak Chin
A ‘weak’ chin is a term that describes a small or undefined chin or jawline. Generally a weak chin will appear shorter and smaller in size, compared with trajectory of the nose and lips. Facial asymmetry may also cause a chin to appear weak especially where the upper lip is larger and more protruding.

Tired Eyes
Many of our patients come to us without specifically knowing what treatment they need, although something we hear frequently is ‘I just look tired’. Tired eyes are a common complaint and can be made up of a number of conditions including; dark circles, eye bags, puffy eyes, drooping eyelids and wrinkles.

Thinning Hair
Thinning hair can be a concern that affects both men and women, either temporarily or on a permanent basis. There are many reasons for thinning hair, including: stress, genetics, poor diet. More gender specific causes may see hair loss during pregnancy or the menopause for women, and pattern baldness during the ageing process for men.

Thin Lips
The size and shape of one’s lips are unique. Some people will naturally possess thinner lips and this is largely down to their inherited genes. However, when it is noticed that the lips are becoming thinner, the ageing process is likely to be the probable cause.

Teeth Grinding
Bruxism is the medical term used to describe teeth grinding. This concern is often an unconscious action that can be associated with stress or anxiety. Many people who are affected by teeth grinding will do it while sleeping and are often unaware of the condition.

Stubborn Fat
Many people can report having stubborn fat, somewhere on their body. This type of fat refers to subcutaneous fat that lies just beneath the skin and is difficult to get rid of, despite healthy eating and taking regular exercise.

Stretch Marks & Scars
Whilst stretch marks aren’t a health issue, some can be particularly severe in appearance, leading to lower self-confidence and battles with body image. They can’t necessarily be ‘cured’, but their visibility can be diminished with an effective, non-surgical treatments such as PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Therapy.

Sagging Skin
Sagging skin is a common concern for those of us who are beginning to see signs of ageing. Sagging skin is largely attributed to the reduced production of the skin’s natural hydrator, elastin, which gives it its ability to “bounce back”.

Pigmentation
The colouring of the skin is referred to as its pigmentation. A pigmentation disorder will cause a change in the colour of the skin, which is controlled by the amount of melanin that is present. Hyperpigmentation is when the skin develops darker patches, such as with age spots.

Neck Bands & Décolletage
Rejuvenating the neck and décolletage usually involves improving the condition of the skin. As one gets older the skin can become less supported and weakened in structure as levels of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid starts to decrease. The skin that was once smooth and youthful, develops feathery looking wrinkles, age spots and loose skin.

Nasolabial Folds
The deep lines or wrinkles that form at the bottom of the nose and run downwards towards the corners of the mouth, are known as nasolabial folds. Most people possess these common facial creases, albeit in varying degrees.

Misshapen Nose
A misshapen nose can affect men and women of all ages. This condition can include one of a range of imperfections on the nose, such as: a flat bridge, a bump on the bridge (dorsal hump), crooked nose or a lifted tip.

Jowls
As we age, many of us find our facial features change, including the area around the jawline. The skin tends to sag and droop over time, leading to what is commonly known as jowling in both men and women.

Fine Lines & Wrinkles
Fine lines and wrinkles are often the first noticeable signs of skin ageing, commonly appearing as: Crow’s feet, laughter lines, frown lines, forehead lines, nose-to-mouth lines (nasolabial folds) and lip lines.

Facial Volume Loss
Facial volume loss can cause your appearance to be gaunt and drained. Our genetics will largely dictate where subcutaneous fat is stored, and when the distribution of fat on our cheeks is little, we can begin to look a little gaunt.

Double Chin
A double chin is a common term used for the medical condition known as submental fat. A double chin is usually associated with weight gain, although you do not necessarily need to be overweight to have a double chin.

Acne Scarring
Acne scarring is a common problem for women and men of all ages, and it can be embarrassing and disheartening to try and make the best of what appears to be an undesirable complexion.

Erectile Dysfunction
Referred to medically as ‘Impotence’, erectile dysfunction can be a common concern for men over the age of 40.

Ageing Hands
The hands can often be one of the first places where the signs of ageing become apparent. Common conditions associated with ageing hands include: loss of volume, crepey skin, wrinkles, age spots and dry skin.

Sagging Skin
Sagging skin is a common concern for those of us who are beginning to see signs of ageing. Sagging skin is largely attributed to the reduced production of the skin’s natural hydrator, elastin, which gives it its ability to “bounce back”.

Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis is the term that is used to describe excessive sweating. This condition can affect the whole body or just localised areas, such as the hands, feet or under the arms. Sweating is a natural bodily function and occurs as a way of helping the body to cool down, such as: when exercising, in warm weather or when in a stressful situation.

Dull, Dry Skin
As a person ages, the skin naturally starts to produce less oil. The complexion starts to look less radiant as dead skin cells start to build up on the face.
