Trap Tox is a treatment that targets reducing the size or bulk of the trapizoid muscle also known as the traps. Using botulinum toxin, the injections allow the muscle to relax to help neck tension, improve posture and the lower the shoulders allowing for a more curved and feminine neck line. This treatment is excellent for patients that complain of neck tension or hunching over or gym goers who want to reduce the bulk of their trapizoid muscles.
With botulinum toxin injections it can take up to 4 weeks to fully settle or kick in to notice results. Repeat treatments are required to reduce the bulk or size of the muscle over time. With all injections its important to remember to avoid the gym, steam room, saunas and sun beds for 48 hours after treatment.
After your first intial face to face consultation wth a doctor or nurse, the treatment time is 15 minutes. Using tiny micro -fine needles the botulinum toxin is injected into four points on each side of the neck into the trapizoid. The area is then cleaned and after care is given.
No, this treatment lasts anywhere from 4-6 months when a retreatment would be required as the muscle regains movement. With repeat treatment, patients will see an increase in positive results and maintain those results longer.
