Polynucleotide treatment is a regenerative injectable that improves skin quality, hydration and elasticity by stimulating the skin’s own repair processes. Unlike dermal filler, it adds no volume. Polynucleodtide treatment improves skin quality and overall skin health, helping improve fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles.
We offer polynucleotide treatment at our clinics in Chelsea, Fitzrovia and Kent. This guide covers the benefits, the side effects, recovery time and what to expect from a course of treatment.
Polynucleotides are known as a bio-revitalising treatment – meaning they revive the skin from within rather than adding anything to it. Once injected, polynucleotides create dna cell repair by creating fibroblasts and repairing damaged skin cells. Skin gets firmer, more hydrated and healthier over the following weeks after treatment. Nothing is being filled or plumped; the change is in the quality of the skin itself. Polynucleotide treatment is a excellent combination treatment with Botox and Dermal Filler for the best tired eye treatment or a more refreshed appearance.
Deeper, longer-lasting hydration. Polynucleotides hold water within the skin itself, which is a different thing from the surface hydration a good moisturiser gives you. Skin looks dewier and feels less tight.
Better firmness and bounce. Improved skin firmness and collagen with fibroblast production.
Softer fine lines. Lines caused by dryness and thinning skin.
Smoother, more even texture.
Stronger skin in thin, delicate areas. Crepiness under the eyes, across the neck and on the backs of the hands responds well, because these are exactly the places where skin quality. Brighter eyes and less aging signs are some of the best benefits of polynucleotide injections.
Polynucleotide injections are versatile and can be used to treat multiple areas, including:
Face (cheeks, under eyes, jawline)
Neck and Décolletage
Hands
Scarring

Most people need a course of three, spaced two to four weeks apart. After that, maintenance every six to twelve months keeps the result. Some concerns need fewer sessions and some more, which we'll assess at consultation.
Filler occupies space and creates an immediate structural change -a fuller cheek, a defined jawline. Polynucleotides add no volume at all. They improve the quality, thickness and hydration of the skin itself, and the change appears gradually over several weeks. Many patients have both, treating different things.
Small visible bumps at each injection point are normal and usually settle within a few hours. Expect some redness, mild swelling and possibly bruising, particularly around the eyes where the skin is thinnest. Everything typically resolves within a few days.
Anyone with a fish or shellfish allergy, since the product is salmon-derived. We also avoid treating during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over an active skin infection or cold sore, or where there's an untreated inflammatory or autoimmune skin condition. Tell us about any allergies at consultation.
