Summer is the ultimate wedding season and if you have your big day coming up, you of course want to look your best. The dress or suit is bought, the hair and makeup is booked and you’ve tried every skin regime going to ensure your complexion is glowing. But for those small complexion concerns, you might be wondering when is the best time to have dermal filler or anti-wrinkle treatments before your wedding.
Non-surgical aesthetic treatments are a great option for both brides, grooms and the wedding party to rejuvenate the skin, enhance natural beauty and deliver a boost in confidence. If you are considering some subtle tweaks to help you along the way, then it’s important to ensure you allow ample time between your treatment and your wedding day. You may have noticed that we generally recommend up to 2 weeks following dermal fillers or anti-wrinkle injections to allow any swelling, bruising or redness to subside. When it comes to anti-wrinkle injections, the product also needs 2 weeks to develop maximum results.
However, when it comes to an occasion as important and special as your wedding day we recommend at least 4-6 weeks between your first visit and your big day. This is because we want to allow enough time for consultation, treatment, review, fine-tuning, and to make sure the product has completely settled.
Consultation
It’s best to aim to have your consultation 6 weeks pre-wedding so that your desired results can be discussed thoroughly with one of our Aesthetic Artists. In many cases you can have treatment in the same appointment, but this timeframe means we’re able to explore different options, forming a treatment plan around the desired end result(s).
Treatment
Depending on your particular treatment, you may require 1 session or multiple sessions. This will be discussed during your initial consultation. A subtle Lip Enhancement will likely only require one session, whereas Tear Trough Filler or our exclusive 3D Face Refresh may need to be spread across a couple of appointments. Having treatment 5-4 weeks ahead of time allows bruising and swelling to go down, and for you to revisit the clinic after 2 weeks for a review if you or our your VIVA doctor feel this is necessary.
Review
Making time for a review appointment is important in case you want to discuss your results with your VIVA Skin Clinics practitioner. We are very happy to review progress 2 weeks after treatment. This gives the practitioner a chance to check over results for you to ask any further questions ahead of the big day. Wedding planning is stressful enough so we are committed to making this process relaxed and inviting.
Fine-tuning
This time frame will allow 2-3 weeks for any last minute fine-tuning. After any swelling/bruising has subsided and the product has settled beneath the skin, slight tweaks here and there may be required to achieve your desired results.
