While some are looking to define the jawline for a more angular, traditionally masculine appearance, others want to slim down the appearance of a ‘boxy’ jaw.
Both desired outcomes can be effectively accomplished using non-surgical treatment options, but how do these treatments work and what can our patients expect to achieve?
Jawline Enhancement with Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are a great treatment option for those patients looking to define, sharpen and strengthen the jaw. Our jawline filler procedure involves injecting small amounts of Juvederm VOLUX into specific areas along the lower face. VOLUX has been specifically designed to treat this area and has a higher density than other products in the Juvederm VYCROSS family, making it ideal for shaping and moulding this facial feature.
The treatment itself is quick and fuss-free and results can be expected to last around 12-15 months. Every client is different so the amount of product required will be discussed during consultation. For male clients looking to achieve overall facial masculinisation, we assess the face as a whole and often recommend combining treatments to achieve a balanced finish that works with your natural features. Areas we may treat in combination with the jawline include the chin, cheeks and lips.
Jawline Slimming with Anti-Wrinkle Injections
Treating the masseter muscle in this way can also work to make this muscle appear smaller and consequentially cause the jawline to look slimmer, creating a lovely ‘V’ shape to the face. Treatment can take as little as 10 minutes to complete and results can generally be expected to last 3-4 months.
