How does SkinPen work?

There are three stages to the wound repair process: Inflammation; Proliferation and Remodelling. The microneedling device is passed over the skin, causing hundreds to thousands of micro-injuries. This low-level trauma encourages an immune response which works to repair the skin’s surface. Over time the skin is rebuilt and is then remodelled to form new dermal tissues and blood vessels. Over 2-3 treatment sessions the improvement in skin quality will take effect and the complexion will be visibly smoother with improved texture and a reduction in visible scarring. Long lasting results will then be sustained with maintenance sessions.

What can I expect from treatment?

This treatment is quick, comfortable and fuss free, with the procedure itself taking around 30 minutes to complete. Topical anaesthetic will be applied for your comfort and as the device is moved across the skin, you should only feel a mild tingling, vibrating sensation. Immediately after treatment you will likely experience some redness but after 24 hours this will begin to subside and you will be able to resume most day-to-day activities.
