At VIVA Skin Clinics, we offer the Obagi Radiance Peel. The peel works to disrupt the superficial cells and are then neutralised to reveal a brighter tone and texture one shedding has subsided. Chemical Peels are a superb non invasive alternative to injectable treatments that offer dramatic results from the very first treatment.
Chemical Peels can cause a stinging or slight warming sensation to the face during application. The solution is then neutralised so that it is only on the skin for the desired length of time. Shedding of the skin post treatment is completely pain free.
The skin may feel a little sensitive post treatment, but this will subside quickly. Shedding of the skin will begin a couple of days post treatment and is a normal and essential part of the treatment process. You should not pick or peel the shedding skin, allowing it to fall away naturally, revealing your beautiful new complexion beneath.
Following the chemical peel treatment, approximately 5 days post treatment your shedding should have almost subsided if not completely. You can expect that the tone and texture of your skin will be much improved, with a beautiful radiant glow. Fine lines and wrinkles as well as superficial acne scars are also often eradicated or reduced through the use of chemical peels, so you will look both youthful and bright.
When professionally applied, chemical peels are perfectly safe. There are some low risks with hypersensitive skin types, although any risks would be discussed at your pre-treatment consultation, at which time your suitability will also be determined.
