However, while Kybella is rapidly growing in popularity, many are still naturally not sure quite what it is, how it works or why they should choose it.

What is Kybella?
Kybella is a fat-dissolving treatment with a very specific purpose. Kybella is solely used in the treatment of double chin fat – submental fat to use the medical term.
The treatment works via a series of precisely placed injections across the under chin area.
Kybella injections include synthetic deoxycholic acid. The human body naturally produces deoxycholic acid and uses it to break down fat, specifically dietary fat.
The injections therefore stimulate fat reduction in the area where they are injected.
They do this by breaking down the fat cells, before then expelling them via the lymphatic system over the course of 6-8 weeks.

As with any treatment, there is also a much smaller risk of more severe complication, in the case of Kybella this can include some trouble swallowing after treatment, ulcers and bruising.
