Skin Boosters are an injectable HA, Hyaluronic Acid, that help improve skin laxity, dry and dull skin by hydrating and repairing skin elasticity and improving collagen production. Unlike dermal fillers, which are also injectable HA, Skin Boosters do not add volume making them a great adjunct or combination treatment with dermal filler to tackle dry and dull skin for brighter more radiant complexion. Skin Booster work by injecting tiny amounts of HA under the dermis, the top layer of the skin, to aide in hydration. Hyaluronic acid is a water loving molecule, once injected it helps restore and attract, retain moisture, leaving skin softer, supple and more hydrated. Skin Boosters are administered with a syringe and a tiny microfine needle targeting certain areas of the face. Skin Boosters with maintenance can last up to 1 year with a course of 3 required for optimal results.
No, most patients find Skin Boosters relatively painless as they contain 3% lidocaine. Skin Boosters feel similar to dermal fillers in consistency and injecting as they are made of the same ingredient of a gel like substance containing Hyaluronic acid. The treatment takes up to 30 minutes to complete and your injector will discuss aftercare to help protect your results and avoid infection/complications.
